Through the Eyes

Darren Bucklew

I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in April of 2006 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing. Anxious to begin my career, I joined the CED Management Trainee Program the following June.

I spent the first year of my training in the Pittsburgh, PA profit center (CED-Mosebach) doing a variety of tasks, such as working in the Warehouse, completing my Counter and Inside Sales training, and also assisting in the annual Inventory. I am currently working out of the Greensburg, PA profit center in the Outside Sales phase of my training. The Training Program has been very helpful to me in both my professional and personal aspirations. The Program has given me a valuable learning experience as I have been able to work in both a large profit center and a small profit center. While the goals are generally the same, the atmosphere and responsibilities for a Trainee are much different in regards to what particular profit center you are working out of. One of my favorite aspects of the Training Program is traveling to different training classes across the country. I have been to Los Angeles, Chicago, Baltimore, and Atlanta, to name just a few.

Aside from CED, I spend much of my free time either watching sports or playing them. I especially enjoy golfing and going to Steeler games. I umpired Little League and Pony League baseball for 5 years, and then American Legion baseball for the past 2 summers.
